Here I am with my very own running blog. I say running, but what I really mean is jogging. I think you have to go faster than my snail pace to consider it "running". Anyone know exactly what is considered running vs jogging?

Today I did something I never thought I would do. I registered for my first marathon. Yes, first. I have every intention of doing more than one. I am following the Non-Runners Marathon Trainer program, and I officially start training next week. The Detroit Free Press/Flagster Marathon is on October 19th...can't wait!

Thanks for coming over and visiting my blog! I start the "real" training this week, too and I'm so nervous that I won't be able to do it. I'm not giving up though. It sounds like you're way ahead of the game...already running a 10K this weekend! Way to go!

A note on the running vs. jogging. I'm on Weight Watchers trying to lose the last 15-20 pounds. I get points(which means I get to eat more) for my physical activity. When I go to log my exercise, it doesn't let you call it "running" unless you're doing at least a 9-minute mile. Ha! I'm so far from that it's ridiculous. At least you're at a 10-minute mile.

By the way, a shopping addiction and running are a dangerous combination. Way too many cool gadgets out there.

Have fun training. Tonight will be the first three miles I've ever run (jogged) in my entire life.
