My purse is $115 lighter today

Thank you all for your comments on yesterdays post. I decided that getting new shoes was probably the most logical thing to do. I've had injury issues ever since I got my Mizunos and I am blaming them. So after going to Runners (I would LOVE to link their store, but I can't find their website. Poo.) yesterday evening and then back again today, and after trying on probably 10 different pair of shoes and driving the wonderful salesman crazazy (I assume)...I found some! I ended up with a pair of Asics Kayano 14's.

The minute I tried them on I loved them. I just hope they are the right shoes for me and my issues go away. The Detroit Free Press Marathon is less than 7 weeks away. Yikes!

Oh and if you are in the Mt. Pleasant or Bay City, MI area I highly recommend going to Runners. I have had help from several different salesmen there and they are all VERY knowledgeable and friendly. :)

Asics Kayano 14 is outstanding. No question about it. I used to run in Asics Kayano 13. It was awesome. However, I am loyal to Saucony for three years. I switched to Nike and not crazy about it. FYI - Mizuno does wear out pretty fast. You have made a fine choice. I will look forward to reading your review on Asics Kayano.

Oooh, I have the same Kayanos! I bought them a month or two ago but haven't really worn them much... gotta start doing that and shifting away from my (old) Brooks Adrenalines.

Wendy, hi, I'm a fellow Michigander too. Got to your blog through Jahowie's. See how the shoes work. Most likely the others weren't working for you. I had a bad case of shin splints though years ago and I think it was mainly the shoes and my stride. If the shoes don't do it, you might want to look at your stride.
